Not according to New Orleans Jazz Club. In 1956, the publication 'The Second Line', the club tried with "Velvet Gloves" to review 'The Real Jazz - Old and New by Stephen Longstreet' which was in their opinion: "chock full of the greatest collection of unfounded opinions, wrong information, and false claims". However, the book was filled with "excellent sketches".
In 1966, 'Sportin' House, A History of New Orleans
and the Birth of Jazz' is released and this time the gloves are off. To
