STEPHEN LONGSTREET:
Letter from John Huston (date unknown).

John Huston: (1906-1987), US film director, actor. He won an Oscar for "The Treasure of Sierra Madre," 1948; also directed many films such as "The African Queen","The Maltese Falcon", "The Asphalt Jungle", "Moby Dick", "The Bible", "The Man who would be King", "Prizzi's Honor" and "The Dead". Stephen (Henry) met John Huston in the late 1920s as they were both students in the "Art Students League". They hooked up again in the 1940s when Stephen Longstreet was writing for hollywood. Their friendship would last many decades, from performing pranks at parties such as putting candles under director chairs to give all the guests a "hot seat" (Ethel, Stephen's wife would not talk to John for a loooong time after this) to fox hunting in Ireland where John purchased a castle so that he could fox-hunt. Below is a letter of unknown date which discusses a collaboration on a book (also unknown, possibly Billy Pearson book from 1958).
